What's all this Wii?!
So the PS3 just launched a few days ago. and the Wii launched right after. Why am I just talking about the Wii now? Why haven't I said a word about the PS3? Why have I just been posting mostly about Xbox 360 games for the past few weeks? Ok. Well, I'll be honest. I wasn't going to be getting a PS3 till sometime next year after all the kinks are worked out of it and the true potential is discovered. I have my Xbox 360, and Gears of War now. I don't think it'd be fair for me to write about something I really have little interest in at this point in time.
Although I was pretty dissappointed with the 360's launch lineup after I'd played most of the games, and the only worth while game on the PS3 seems to be Resistance, I am very impressed at how the Wii seems to be pulling out ahead as far as launch titles go. While I don't have one yet myself, here's a look at the games that I think stand out on the system.
Wii Sports
So what if it comes with the system, it's still looking good. And it's more than one game, its a bunch. Wii Tennis, Wii Baseball, Wii Boxing, Wii Golf, and Wii Bowling. You can even put yourself in the games by creating your own Mii characters.
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Don't confuse Rabbits with Rabbids. They have nothing in common. Well, that's not exactly true. But I'm pretty sure PETA will come after you if you try doing any of the mini-games from Rayman with rabbits. Doesn't mean it can't be fun! And from the reviews, it looks to be an interesting platformer for the system. Rayman has a triumphant return.
Madden 07
Yea, I played it already on the Xbox 360. But, it looks as if the Wii version is the one version to get if you haven't played the game yet. The reviews say that the Wii mote is definately the way to go if you're trying score a touch down this Xmas. And no, this doesn't count as Wii Football. I'll have to see if this one makes the highlight reel.
Need for Speed Carbon
After seeing Excite Truck being played at E3 with the Wii, I pretty much dubbed the Wii king of racing controllers. I myself have never liked steering wheel controllers, too expensive, and too clunky. I'll stick to my actual car thank you. The Wii steering wheel on the other hand, is small and not at all clunky. Need for Speed and the Wii go hand in hand, and this definately looks like the deepest racer at launch.
Legend of Zelda: Twighlight Princess

Yes, I did save the best for last. And if I have to explain to you why this game is the game to get if you have this system, then there's little hope for you. All I know is this will be the LAST game I put into my Wii, because once I do, I won't take it out.
And now, let me show you the coolest gamer I've ever seen. The Super Nintendo fan. This man is a hero. Five days of no sleep, and no plans of getting any sleep in the near future. If only we all had your determination sir, if only.
Wii would like to play. Can't really say any of the next-gen console commercials are very compelling, but atleast the gameplay looks interesting to the casual gamers.
And here's Gametrailer's launch guide incase you're wondering what other games this whacky named system has to offer.
